  • Dear Jerry,

Do you sell your beaded works? Do you remember how hectic it was just before Christmas? Wondering what happened? Do not worry January; February and March are always the slowest months of the year. It will start to get crazy again before Mother's day.

Take this time to relax. Look at the latest catalogs and try out some new styles. It will get busy again. Then you will wish you had some down time.

    New Products...

We have added 60 or so new products since the last newsletter.

Keep watching for new stuff. If you do not see what you want, drop me a line. Maybe we can get it for you.

We are adding more products as quickly as possible. I always think that I will be caught up by the time the newsletter goes out, but I never am.

    Beads in the News
While doing some research into beading frauds and scams, I came across a site called the World News Network. This site pulls headlines and news stories from around the world. I know that Google and Yahoo do the same thing. However, I just liked this site better.

I try to start each day by going to that site and searching for articles that have the words; Beading, Charm Bracelets, Freshwater Pearls and Swarovski Crystal Beads in them.

Many of these articles are in small regional papers. Because newspaper websites have a habit of rotating stories into their archives, I create a page from the article. I always cite the author where I found it and any other information. I also add links to the any websites found in the article.

    Jewelry forecast
    Big, bright and colorful

Everyone wants to know what is the next big trend and what colors will be hot. I have located two articles.

Jewelry forecast: Big, bright and colorful By Linda Lipp - of The News-Sentinel Posted on Wed, Feb. 04, 2004.

What will be the next big accessory trend? To steer you into Spring/Summer 2004, Accessories The Show traveled to Milan, Paris, and London, scrutinizing the shows, the streets, and the stores.

    Swarovski Flat Back Crystals
We have been toying with the idea of adding a line of Swarovski Flat Back Crystals to our store.

We would sell them by the bulk pack or half bulk pack. A bulk pack for most sizes is 12 gross = 1,440.

However, we cannot decide if there is enough of a market for these, plus we are not sure how they would fit in with the rest of our products. They are not beads.

Drop us a line and let us know what you think.

    The Specials for March
The most common Birthstone for March is Aquamarine. I have been having trouble getting any kind of good quality Aquamarine for a reasonable price.

I just got a good shipment in, they go pretty fast. So order yours soon.

All products that have Aquamarine in the name are 5% off for this month.

When working with Aquamarine you will noitce that your fingers turn blue. This is from the dye in the thread, not from the Aquamarine.
