Season Silveira

I am 21 years old and have been beading for about 10 years.

I learned to bead from these mountain men wannabes named Gary and Penny. They traveled on horseback and even lived in a teepee! I lived in Klamath Falls, Oregon then and they stopped in town to sell some of their beaded jewelry. After Gary BSed with my dad for about an hour he invited them to set up camp out by our cabin because they needed a place to stay until they moved on to the next town. When they left, they gave me some of their beads and a way to keep in touch with them.

I love gemstones the most and almost all my jewelry contains some.

[ Jerry ] Are these hanging on a duck/goose? How did you come up with that? Some of my neighbors have those. Do you dress them up for the holidays?

[ Season ] Yes that is a goose!!! It is actually my grandmothers and she does dress it up!

These necklaces were done a few years ago, except the tiered one made with turquoise and pearl. My recent work is even better. I am trying to do more difficult and intricate pieces. I rarely sell my work I usually just give it away. I wear them too but usually take them apart after a month or so. Many of the beads in my necklaces are recycled many times.

I think that when people were the jewelry part of their energy goes into the stones and stays with it. Then when it worn by the next person in a different necklace it always has a different hue, I believe this gives the stones "character". I hope that doesn't sound crazy to you! Thanks for given me a chance to show my inspirations and emotions--which is what each piece reveals!

I did the wrapping of the stone also! I know I need more practice but its not bad for a amature
