Marketing Weapons -- Your Logo
Everybody that is in
business needs a logo, some way for people to recognize your products. This
helps create an image and identity for you and your company. It can be something
as simple as your name written in a fancy script. Your logo should be a crisp,
clean image that conveys the feeling of your business.
Your logo does not have to be loaded with details. Small
details can easily become lost when printed.
Look at the logos for Yahoo!, and Google for example. All Internet
surfers recognize these logos yet they are very simple designs.
If you are not very handy with one of the high-end graphics
products, you can use the word-art portion of Microsoft Word. You can bend a
phrase about anyway you want to. If word-art does not work draw or trace your
design on a piece of paper and scan it.
You
can hire a company to create on for you. Just a quick search on google found
many companies willing to do this.
But, hey you're an artist; surely you can
come up with something.

A Word About Logos.
|
If you look at a lot of logos you will see that the ones that
work best are round or curved. I read a report that said Triangles are
the worst shape for a logo, followed by Squares then Rectangles. The
best-shaped logos are Crescent shaped. The second best shape for a logo
is a Circle.
If you have ever noticed my logo, it is circles and crescents, pretty
clever! Really, it was supposed to be a sun-moon, but I could never get
it to look right.

Be sure that your logo looks good in and black-and-white. You may
not be able to afford color business cards, plus there will be times
when you fax material.
